OLDISMS: The Things We Talk About Now — a colorful backyard scene with birds, rain gauges, neighbors, lawn equipment and coffee

Good neighbors. Great stories. Very important conversations about the weather.

Welcome to OLDISMS

Getting older gives you better material.

Remember when we talked about weekend plans? Now it’s rain gauges, mower problems, gas prices, hummingbirds and what the neighbors are up to. And somehow, it’s just as entertaining.

OLDISMS. Funny Because It’s True!

OLDISMS: You know you're retired when you call the neighbor about how much rain they got, even though they live right across the roadFunny

it’s true!

A little about the idea

Not laughing at getting older. Laughing together.

OLDISMS is a collection of simple, relatable observations about the conversations and habits we pick up along the way. It’s for retirees, couples, grandparents, neighbors and anyone who’s ever gotten excited about a good rain.

Nothing mean-spirited. Nothing political. Just a good laugh and sometimes a fond memory.

At some point, “How much rain did you get?” becomes a perfectly good conversation starter.
